Hi all,
Just want your opinions on turbo cleaners.
Im thinking of putting some Forte Diesel Turbo Cleaner into car.I have read mixed reviews so was wondering wot you think or is there a better additive.
Turbo feels a bit sluggish ,so a mate said to use this first as it sorted his car out. He also said it helps to clean egr values.
I have always used (on every fill up )redex in my car .So I don't know if this will make any difference.
Thanks
I wouldn't bother personally I would take egr off and clean properly and whilst doing that check vnt actuator moves freely. If it don't inject some mr muscle down egr outlet on ex manifold using a silicone hose, works wonders cleaning them up
Just checked how to take egr valve off, just haven't got time or ramps.Think ill give it a go ,
cheers anyway
You won't need ramps to do egr it is all done from up top and is relatively easy to do if you have a good selection of tools and a spare hour or 2.
Our old 1.9tdi octy had a sticky turbo - vnt vanes, I used Mr muscle oven cleaner sprayed down in it and moved the actuator back and forward over a period of a few hours.. Check briskoda for a guide..
