The headlight adjustment in dash does not work on my old gal standard halogens fitted not hid.
Are there any common problems with these anyone aware of before I start ripping it apart and poking with the fluke?
Are both headlamps definitely not adjusting? I believe the adjuster motors in the headlamps themselves can give trouble but it'd be a bit odd for them both to give up at the same time.
Neither of them definitely not doing anything,no noise or movement.
Seeing if the leveling switch has power to it would be my next step. There is a RL article on the motors here (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-reference-library/galaxy-headlamp-levelling-motor-removal-repair/) but as per my previous post, it'd be odd for them to both give up at the same time.
I have the same problem.
Where is exactly located level sensor?
Does yours have factory fitted xenon?
Standard halogen don't have level sensor just switch on dash and motors in lamps.
Xenon have level sensor which I believe is located by one of the front lower suspension arms?
I have headlamp washers, so I suspect that car had factory xenons maybe removed by previous owner.
Actually I have standard halogen headlights.
Do you have the height adjuster on dash by headlamp switch? Factory xenons never had this as they are done automatically by the control unit.
Don't know if washers were an option for the halogens?
You could get the headlight wash as an option in certain countries but the UK wasn't one of them. I would guess that someone has replaced the switch with the wrong one rather then swapped out the xenons for the simple reason that its not that easy to swap them out. The wiring pin outs all require changing for one :)
