Title: Mondeo Steering Wheel
Post by: Sihayton on November 02, 2015, 09:03:53 AM
I've managed to acquire a MK3 Mondeo leather steering wheel. Would this fit into my Galaxy or will I have to lookout for a Galaxy specific leather steering wheel?

I'd be inclined to say they won't be compatible and the airbag units/ connectors may also be different, as well as the clocksprings. Bit too big a gamble for my liking, though that's not to say that it won't physically fit.

Thank you, I'll keep an eye out for a Galaxy one then.

I got this one for nothing and was going to have a look at fitting it yesterday. Quite glad I didn't now

The Mondeo one is just a standard one without controls. They do look similar but having a hunt round google yesterday the fittings look different sadly

As you have now found out, the fitting is very different. Ford use a hex mount where VW (which the Galaxy is) uses a spline mount. Aside from that the airbag isn't compatible either so unfortunately, no go!
