Title: Front bumpers compatibility!
Post by: Galasz1 on October 20, 2015, 09:49:10 PM
Hello everyone! Some b....rd reversed/drove into my front bumper in a supermarket car park. Hit&run basically. I only noticed when I went home. And I got the :No responsibility accepted, from the staff. I know the cars are 99% the same, but are the front bumpers and headlight washers compatible between the Galaxy and Alhambra/Sharan? I need to replace the off side headlight washer and 2 of the parking sensors.
Any help appreciated.

Although the basic bumper mountings will be the same, the Galaxy/ Sharan/ Alhambra front bumpers are not the same- the grilles/ surrounds are different styles & shapes and the contour of the bumper around the sides of the headlamps is also a different shape to accommodate the differently shaped headlamp units (on the Galaxy the bumper itself does not extend above the bottom of the headlamp, whereas the Sharan bumper has 'arms' which run up the sides of the headlamps and the Alhambra bumper extends in the middle around the badge)- the Galaxy headlamps taper off along the top edge whereas the Sharan/ Alhambra units are squarer. Because of the differently shaped grille and headlamps the Galaxy has a different bonnet to the others as well.

As above the front bumpers are very different, the rears are also different although much less noticeable.

The headlight washer opening on the Sharan/Alhambra is slightly larger then the Galaxy, although I believe the actual mechanism internally is the same.

Thanx guys. So, the washer units would be compatible with the Ford system? I'm thinking of getting one from an Alhambra and swapping it over! Thanx again.
