My fan switch (mk1diesal) only works on 3&4 any clues please ?

This is usually the resistor (usually green colour) located next to the blower motor, you will need to remove the glove box to give access.

Is the rear resistor the same part the front ?

Sorted , bought a s/h one from eBay , was advertised as rear resistor for mk2 but was same part ñumber ?
