Title: Fuel Temperature Sensor fault P0183. Where's the sensor?
Post by: drjaking on August 31, 2015, 03:48:44 PM
Does anyone know where to find the fuel temp sensor on a 2.0L TDCI Duratorq? I can find pictures of what it's meant to look like, but I can't find the thing!

Car is a MK3 2.0 TDCI Auto 2010.

Many thanks,

John

On the (admittedly earlier) TDCI Ford's I've worked on the fuel temp sensor was fitted directly to the high pressure fuel pump on the engine, having said that, the 2 litre TDCI parts diagrams show a sensor fitted to the fuel filter housing, so there's a chance that might be it.

Thanks... The pump looks a more likely contender but there is so much going on there and I can't see anything like the pictures I've found. I believe the sensor is picking up fuel that comes unused from the injectors, there's nothing connecting these to the filter, which just seems to I have an in and out line.

Stumped, but I reset the light with Forscan and it hasn't come back, plus the fuel temp reading from Forscan was sane, so I think it was one of the ECU glitches I'm getting used to.
