Title: Galaxy 2.8 v6 auto 2001 - ESP warning light

Recently done the lower arms and then went to London on motorway the ESP light came on and made the auto snatch on gear change. switched off drove back no light.
it keeps coming on randomly dropped the battery and OK for a week now back again any ideas.

Most likely ABS sensor wiring, with the arm's removed the strut is free to 'roam' and load up the wiring to the sensor. Some alternatives (assuming you separated the driveshaft from the hub) could be that the sensor ring got damaged, the sensor itself was damaged during that process or the hub bolt wasn't replaced and the drive shaft isn't properly 'home' causing mis-readings.
