G'day!

What model/ age Galaxy do you have? I'm assuming you've got a Mk2 where the DVD player is fitted into the centre console between the 2 front seats?

Hi Derek, the factory system is made by Visteon and is completely bespoke. It's not really
possible to break into the system in terms of wiring directly to the screens so you either need to replace like-for-like or rip the whole thing out :(

Do you mean the control panel that sits on the rear face of the centre console between the driver's and passenger's front seats?

You have to remove the centre console, the DVD player is screwed onto a bracket from behind and the control panel is snapped in. Undo the screws that are under the armrest, then the two by the handbrake and finally the two at the rear of the console, the whole thing will lift up then and you can hopefully get your hand in to disconnect the wiring. Be careful tugging on the cables as they aren't exactly robust!

Supposedly it can't be changed, not according to the manual anyway:

Region is not the same as choosing between NTSC and PAL.  But, if it was working before, it was both the correct region (unless you were using discs from another region than 2) and the correct TV system.
