Title: Rear spring replacement
Post by: benali on July 27, 2015, 02:34:17 PM
Can this be done by an average DIYer. Do I need a spring compressor?

Yes and Yes, its one of the simpler jobs because the shock isn't internal to the spring.

Jack the car, remove the wheel, compress the spring, disconnect the anti-roll bar, disconnect the shock's lower bolt, slide out the spring.

Thanks, just getting hold of a spring compressor is the problem then. Wasn't sure if the lower arm would drop sufficiently to allow removal without compressing?

Not really, it probably would cleaar but it'll be a fight to get it out unless you can raise the car massively high
