Thanks in advance just cleaned idle control valve with carb cleaner does iyt have to be reset if so how

No it doesn't need resetting.
What problem are you getting.

Put it back on and now it just cuts out

Start the engine revs up and now doesn't idle just cuts out

Under normal circumstances iirc the engine will stall if the wiring is uplugged from valve, engine wiring loom is known to cause problems with breakages.
