are they worth the money and do they really make that much difference?

No no no no!!! They are second only to HID kits in the worthless piece of junk stakes :)

Basically they trick the ECU by giving false data so it over-fuels. They have been known to cause serious damage and the actual gain won't be anywhere near the claimed gain!

Save the money and remap it properly :)

So a 115 remaps to around 145, some tuners will take it well above that but personally I wouldn't want to risk anything more then 150. Depending on where you go will depend on the cost, take a read of this thread:

I would want it took to where the best Mpg is personally, im not too fussed about loads of power gains but I do understand that it does have a bearing on the Mpg for the better (up to a point) or am I wrong?

Mirez, did you say yer man over in Hull sell's already mapped Ecu's for 90 odd quid?

I did mine because I wanted just a tad more power, the fuel economy came with it :)

Yeah that's how much Lee used to charge, you send him your ECU then he recodes it and sends it back. You are without the car for around 5 days or he'll send you a temp ecu.
