Title: Hesation when excelarating

hi everyone i have a 2003 galaxy ghia 1.9tdi but recently when i put my foot down its doesn't seem to respond after around 5 secs or so it will respond and pull as it should, sometimes i have to switch off ignition and back on for it to respond

Sounds like that could be early stages of the variable turbo vanes starting to stick though there could be other causes. Are you able to scan the vehicle for fault codes?

ordered a lead last night so will scan when it comes. Turbo vanes can this be fixed or does it requare a new turbo?

They can be ref. Chris's Reference Library article here (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-reference-library/turbo-removal-115-pd-engine/), you want to be damn sure that's the issue before doing that procedure though as the turbo has to come off of the car unless you want to try one of those cleaners that doesn't require the turbo to be removed, though a degree of dismantling is still required. I don't know how effective these are though, I've no experience of them.
