Title: Front nearside window not shutting.
Post by: cockneychris on April 10, 2015, 01:07:46 PM
The window on the nearside front thinks it has a baby's arm stuck in it as it detects a problem and runs halfway down again. You can only get it to close if you flick the toggle and inch it up. I have tried resetting it ie run it down to the bottom and then hold the toggle on for a short while and again at the top and hold the toggle up. This hasnt worked so apart from a sticky runner what do you think it could be.

has it made any strange noises?
if so it may of over spooled slightly?
if not then give the runners a spray with ptfe.

No noises Greg and I have tried the resetting trick but no luck there. Good idea with the ptfe spray but does it bleed out onto the window at all?

shouldnt do,id use that rather then wd40.
if this doesnt sort it,then id be looking at a possible over spool in the motor.

im sure there is info within the referance libaray about gaining entry to the window regulator and motor,
if AND its a big if,that it is the rugulator/motor that has overspool you will have to remove the door card, and remove the regulator itself.
