Title: Key Programming
Post by: kmetodiev on April 06, 2015, 06:56:02 PM
Hi everybody,

I have found lots of topics about the key programming, but neither one answered to my problem/question.

The problem is that the remote key is not working. I have read the topic about the programming and I observed the procedure but it did not work.
After I pressed the unlock button three times(whilst the lock button is pressed) the LED of the key stared blinking(5 times) but the doors LED was still illuminating constantly(not blinking). After few seconds the LED of the door went off and key was not programmed.

I repeated the procedure few times without the wanted result

Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks a lot !

Regards,
Kostadin

There seems to be a common fault with the older VW two button key that stops it programming correctly - the only real solution is to replace the fob :(

Well, I am sorry for my question, but what does "fob" mean(I looked up for it in the dictionary, but couldn't find the meaning that I need) ? :-[ :-X

Is it in the back side of the key(the part that the buttons are on it) or it is a device somewhere in the car ?

Many thanks in advance.

It's just another name for the remote key.

Oh, I see.  ;D

Thanks. I will look for a second hand fob firstly, to try if it will work.

Have a nice day !

Be careful buying second hand remote fobs, often they don't work or are listed to work with the Galaxy but are the wrong part.

The part number you are looking for is 5WK4 790/97/98
