Hi everyone, i bought my ford galaxy privately in july 2014, its done 93000 miles. when shifting from 1st geart to 2nd the car shakes, once in 2nd gear everything is normal. Its worst especially when when shifting, On up a hill. I have taken it ford for diagnosis there was no faults codes. they recommended changing the gear box oil and filter first. Because i dont have any records when it was changed last. I have got the oil and filter changed by a independent mechanic. it has been 3 days since the oil and filter has been changed. But problem still the same. i would greatful if anyone can advice anthing in relation to this problem. Thank u.
Could be lower gearbox mount, proper name is torque restrictor, mine went at similar mileage to yours.cheap and easy job and car drives so much better.
Thank you, donny 17, i will ask my mechanic to have look.
Donny17, is your ford galaxy 2010 model.
sorry no its a 2006 model.
Hey there Auto Gearbox Specialist...
Can you recommend any Auto box specialists in Rep. of Ireland.....have you any dealings with pros in ROI?
My gearbox gear changes...particularly from 3rd to 4th are getting a bit jerky. Also when stopped eg.at the traffic lights, when you go to accelerate off, sometimes 1st is slow to engage.
So I would like to get somebody to look at it. It doesn't come up with any codes in vagcom.
Any ideas?
It's a 05 Galaxy with a Jatco 5 speed.
Thanks
N
