Ha, good fix! Definitely one thing which is much harder on modern cars, creative fixes like that just don't work on modern stuff. You know the potato would work perfectly but there will be an ECU somewhere which will recognise said spud and through a wobbly!

You would have to tell your insurance company as some wont allow you to chip your car.
