Please help!!! The directional heater control isn't working to its full potential, eg: the air directional control doesn't work in any position. There is air being blown out but I cant direct it. Also the front heated windscreen has stopped working. Does anyone have any ideas......I`m being driven mad by it.
welcome5
have you checked the fuses in the engine bay for the front windscreen?
I have a similar problem, its driving me mad. I wasn't getting any air to the foot wells. Anyway stripped the glove box out and other bits of trim to find that the bottom flap actuator when swapped with another actually works. So a supply fault possibly fuse or broken wire, don't know which fuse it is ?
ive had to position it so i get some heat to feet area some to he front and now not too much to the windscreen.
How do you know in this weather, whether or not the heated screen is working or not ?
I would say either a wiring defect or a problem with the controller,I would rule a fuse out as others wouldnââ,¬â,,¢t work.
Have you got diagnostic equipment to carry out tests and actuations?
Try and get the front screen to steam up with a bowl of hot water and then turn on front heated screen.
I think you can reset positions of the flaps by removing battery for 10-15 minutes. The controller may have become "confused" and needs to sort itself out, which it does by being dead for a while. I think.
Might be worth a try before anything else. Usual caveats about resetting window controls and ICE codes.
I like the tip about the bowl of water
