Title: Parking sensor
Post by: stevo9 on June 01, 2012, 09:32:11 AM
Hi, I have just bought Galaxy Ghia tdi 2004, it has a fault with parking sensors they all are ticking but I get a long beep and flashing switch when engaged. I thought I would buy a working sensor and test each one individually, They seem to be very expensive but those for Seat and VW  part no 4h0 919 275 A are a lot cheaper, does anyone know if they will fit?

Thanks  Steve

Hi Steve, no the system needs the correct sensor and those won't work or fit. There are normally some on ebay for  under Ã,£30 but take a look at the wiring at the back where it enters each sensor, they quite often break here and cause errors.

Thanks for that I will have a look later and let you know how I get on, but would the sensor tick if there was a problem with the wiring also I need to check controller under passenger seat I think.

Thanks again  Steve.

Its unlikely to be the controller based on the symptoms you have, the sensors have 3 wires each a supply, a ground and a signal. If the signal wire is damaged the sensors will still tick but can't transmit the signal so the controller detects this as a fault.
