Hi all, I'm having intermittent limp mode (won't go above 70mph on motorway but behaves as normal if I pull over and restart the engine).
Did a scan and came up with manifold temp sensor short or open to ground intermittent. Where can I find this sensor? I guess it's the likely culprit. Thanks
Can you confirm your Mark year and engine as the 115PD engine was fitted in the MK2's 2000>
Hi Chris, yes I might be a bit confused. The log book says first reg 23/11/2000 but also (decl/d manuf 1999). It's a zetec td and I'm sure i read somewhere that it's a 115 though I can't find that written anywhere now. How can I confirm the engine type?
Have a look at the pics below,
https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-reference-library/galaxy-mk1-2-or-3-which-model-do-i-own/
look at the second photo down in the pics below engine with the plastic cover removed
https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy-reference-library/galaxy-mk2-tdi-whats-what-in-the-engine-bay/
Your plastic cover will be different to the one in the first photo as this is a 130ps
Near the top of your log book does it have the code AUY
Well it doesn't seem very clear... Looks like a mk1 from from of car but the engine looks different to the one you sent me a link to. On the log (reregistered from uk to Ireland 2014) it says 113 bhp. Is there no code anywhere that will give me a definitive answer?
Then it sounds like you have a MK1 below is a pic of my old 1999 MK1 fitted with the 110ps AFN engine

There is only one other option that is the 90ps AHU and is similar to the above pic
There are some other sites you can check your vehicle on
Look here if I remember correctly engine code P is the AFN engine

Also look on car spares sites where they ask for your registration number, this usually brings up the engine code for your vehicle
Ok, it looks like the mk1 110 alright. Does this help much with the original enquiry re the manifold temp sens fault code and limp mode?
Glad we got that sorted, right the sensor is in the photo that I sent but here's another to pinpoint it

Thanks for all that Chris. I'll check the connections and clear the codes. If it returns I should be able to get a replacement easy enough
I've had a look there seems only one part number for these engines. VW 028906081
