I have a ford galaxy Mk2 and the headlight warning buzzer does not work. The interior light comes on when the drivers door is opened correctly and i cannot find any documentation or anything about how this system works or where the relays, etc are. Can anyone help please?
A very simple circuit really - no relays or anything like that.
If you look on the B pillar with the door open you'll find the door a-jar switch. The switch actually has two switches in it, one for the interior light circuit and the other for the door open warning which feeds directly to the instrument cluster (where the buzzer is incorporated). The switches are the same for the other doors so swap one over and see if that fixes the fault.
Does the cluster recognise that door is open?
