Evening all :-)

Since we bought the Alhambra i have been searching for the cause of vibration which only occurs at idle. The clutch has been replaced with a single mass conversion from Valeo, The exhaust is a tired and botched thing but is hung correctly and in tact, the only thing i can think of is the mounts. The torque mount i discovered has separated on the central rubber bush from an impact at some point with the centre bush touching metal on metal but i ruled this out because there are rubber bushes at either end (might be wrong though). The engine mounts seem ok but i haven't had time to test them. Is there anything glaringly obvious i'm missing here?

Are you referring to the roll restrictor? I think the later Mk2's had a slightly different setup to the earlier models, i.e, number 20 on this (http://eucatparts.com/?action=cat_ford_part&s_id_part=24740&s_id_model=99) parts diagram instead of number 19.

Nope, they had the same unit right through. 19 is the petrol version

are you talking about the dog bone mount that has metal to metal? this will cause vibration. Mine went and I replaced it. One test you can do is when car is stopped, put into first gear and let clutch out until it bites and see if the vibes go or change....

The vibration goes away when you pull away so i'm guessing it is the mount after all, The new one might have to wait until next month because i found out my Ibiza PD is overdue its cambelt by 18k miles oops!  In the meantime i will remove it and Sikaflex the bush back into its proper location which should last a little while.

Hi.

Did you get round to changing the mount and did it solve this issue. I am suffering from this but don't want to buy the mount if its something else.

I have recently changed clutch and DMF along with alternator pulley.
