I know I will have to wire them in but can I fit heated mirror glass to my mk2 sharan with manual mirrors
hope to get the wire down with the adjustment rods
Yeah should be easy enough to fit, the mounts are AFAIK the same so pop the glass and mount on and apply a fused 12v supply. Where are you going to grab the 12V supply from though, there isnt a suitable supply already in the door so you may have to run a new supply, relayed from the battery.
I was hoping to use the heated rear window
so turn that on and on come the mirrors
I think Mirez just meant there isn't a supply with enough power available within the door and you will have to run power through the dreaded gaitors in order to supply them. I know on mine they come on with the rear screen, but haven't looked at the wiring diagram to see if they have a dedicated fuse.
Yeah there is nothing in the door that can handle the current except the electric window wiring which would be a bad choice to wire into! The heated screen is a fine place but make sure you fuse the spur as the wiring and mirror pad will use a lot less then the rear window will.
what amp fuse would you use
7.5amp should be about right ;)
