hi
can anyone help I have a 51 plate 1.9 pd galaxy with an auy engine ive done vcds as ive got lumpy idle and a surging when cruising if I put my foot down a little so its pulling away its smooth, I got code 17677 cyl 4 pumpinjector valve
already changed the loom and checked cam lobes so it looks like its the injector . I was told to pull off the wiring plug to the injector to confirm so I took off the connector on cyl 4 (gearbox end) it made it even lumpier so I took off connector no 1 (cam belt end) and that made no difference . have I got my cylinders round the wrong way in my head. any help would be appreciated thanks
Howdy!
I can't guarantee 100% I'm correct here but I would think they would be numbered from the timing belt end making number 4 injector the one closest to the gearbox. Just out of interest, how did you run the engine with one injector disconnected? As the rocker cover has to come off to access the injectors and connections, did you remove and refit the rocker cover between disconnecting and reconnecting the injectors?
no carefully placed some towels over the inlet manifold I wouldn't recommend it, its a bit messy
As above, 1 is the cambelt end, 4 is the gearbox end. Fire order is 1-3-4-2
Have you tried clearing the code to see if it returns with same number.
Sorry it's been a while thanks for your help they are numbered from Cambelt end now replaced and running smooth .took 2 hours thanks to the help of you all.
