Title: sat nav memory loss
Post by: davals2000 on December 03, 2014, 09:31:39 PM
I have just brought a Ford Galaxy mk3 1.8 Ghia on a 58 plate,  it seems that if I put a destination in the sat nav it vanishes after turning engine off, is this standard or do I have a problem. It also seems that I can only store 5 numbers on voice recognition for phone as well, thanks in advance.

In the absence of any other input (and pure speculation on my part), it sounds like either something that should still have a power supply when the ignition is switched off doesn't (though I'm sure this wouldn't be normal/standard as the system should be able to retain the information even if the battery is disconnected), or there's a fault with a memory chip or module that stores the information. Or it could be a software glitch. I'd be thinking a defective module, but as I say, just thinking out loud on my part.
