Hi, have just joined this group.
I'm having a nightmare trying to get insurance cover. When the reg is put in at the insurers no details will appear for the car( 2.3 Galaxy 2002). I have done a VIN number check online and it just says its a mid range! Also says it was built in Germany. My insurance need to know if it's a zetec,LX or a ghia! No wood trim so that deletes ghia.
I have spoken to 3 ford dealers and one said its a zetec the other 2 said it maybe an import.
The only info I have is on the green slip( new keeper!) Dvla can tell me due to data protection.
Does anyone know what 'mid series is if it's an import??
Thanks in advance
Mid series is Ford's internal speak.
Low Series = LX
Mid Series = Zetec
High Series = Ghia
Put your reg or vin into https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do and see what Ford's own DB tell's you...
My old Galaxy 53 was a zetec
in etis it was mid range
that should help confirm it

Thanks gents, I have followed the link it's come up with mid series! But with a different reg?!?! Just done another hpi check and it's come up with my reg and also states it's a zetec and not had a number plate change??? Also says its registered in 2004. Tried hpi check on the reg that came up on the link you supplied and that reg doesn't exist. Confused.com
wasnt a forces car by chance?
my old mk1 was and had 2 concurrent mot's 1 for old plate and 1 for the new plate,
had been re registered(well thats what the dealer told me anyway).
Well V5 has finally arrived! Still no wiser! Has nothing where it says model. But does have a variant and version!
Variant is E55A1
Version is 7AQ
Can anyone shed any light???
Have managed to insure it as a zetec but just still a tad confused lol
The Ford etis site will only ever show the original registration number, so instead of using your current reg number use the Vin/chassis number instead this will then show the original registration number and other details
For "Forces Cars", the original number plate is re-associated with the vehicle when the vehicle is returned to UK, so all forces vehicles sold on, should have the original first registration number plate.
