I am about to sell a car. My Question= My car is tax till Feb 2015 old paper disk on windscreen. Can I sell the car (WITH) tax because it is still the old paper disk?
I know the law says I cant sell car with tax and by law need to inform them and get refund on remaining months on tax but that on the new paperless tax disk. Right!!
Looks like the answer is no, new owner will have to tax it and you need to apply for a refund for the unused portion of the tax you have paid for.
First answer from Google is http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/oct/01/tax-disc-question-and-answer (http://www.theguardian.com/money/2014/oct/01/tax-disc-question-and-answer)
Thank you :(
Correct, just had to do the same with the Golf (well I didn't bother as the tax on that is only Ã,£20 a year) but all paper discs are obsolete now.
Can you pay your car tax monthly now? Thought I read that somewhere before.
Yep, you can set up a direct debit apparently, though of course ::) you get charged extra for the privilege........
Thank you all.. :) I noticed it cheaper buying 12 month compared to 2 x 6 months by around Ã,£30+ So a monthly one will be a lot more over 12 months period. I thought the new paperless tax disc would save millions of pounds (info from news reports) I guess savings do not get pass down to us!! :'(
your having a laugh,
theres no way any savings will be passed down to us mug motorists.
there saving millions now that they are not printing the disks.
but will they reduce the cost........er no.
