Title: Tent ,canopy,Opening boot from inside.
Post by: wazevan on September 21, 2014, 05:56:13 PM
Hi all,
Myself and boy just had a weekend of camping with out the females of the family. :)
My son wanted to sleep in car (8yrs),so before we left removed all seats.Must admit it was great and really comfortable to sleep in.We did have a tent which we stored bits in and also had a large tarpaulin which we attached to the roof bars and draped over the car windows for the night/morning.
The only pain really was not being able to open boot from inside,is there anyway this can be done.Im also trying to find some kind of tent to attatch to back of car.Ive looked on line and seen some ,just wondered if any body had any ideas.Next time I will take gazebo to go over car.It was great weekend and really fun. What a car

Ahhh yeah they are suprisingly comfortable eh!

Internal boot release is quite easy, have a look on ebay for "96FG19B514 AA" which is the part number for a KA/Fiesta non-latching boot switch. Find somewhere to mount that and then its just a case of tapping the wiring either in the tailgate itself or where it connects behind the drivers side tailgate panel. The two wires are to each side of the microswitch from the outside handle and you are done, the boot will open with the car unlocked just like the ext handle.
