Mk2 51 with 86K miles on the clock - bodywork is mint, full ghia spec with leather. Just had a new clutch and timing belt tensioner. Bought as a non runner for Ã,£775 :)
Picking it up on Saturday but I suspect (and hope) it'll be running within 10 mins - vagcomd it and got maf shot, throttle body not calibrated and CPS sensor fubared... hopefully the cause of the non starting. Wish me luck :)
bloody hell you lucky sod,
but then again the cost of fuel no wonder its cheap.
non runner eh?not for long i susspect.
if you cant get it running cheaply then i would say its FOOKED. ;D
Well she's back - first impressions are good, all faults relate to the electronic throttle body assembly which is the original but having had a little measure the voltages dont stack up - rain stopped play but will be looking at the wiring loom on Monday. Wish me luck :)
[attach=1]
looks a clean example, good luck with her m8.
is this a project to keep or a quick profit?
Debatable, at the moment its a quick profit but potentially I'll run it alongside this one as a bit of a laugh :D
stick a load of tdi badges over it,then go and visit your local mcdonalds about 11 pm,then have some fun while the tossers try and burn you in there corsa's. ;D ;D
Does that make you a petrol head now [HAHA]
oh i wonder if you can help me guys,WHY O WHY AM I ONLY GETTING 18 M/P/GALLON OUT OF MY CAR?????????????????
[CRY] [CRY] LOL
Now now! :P
I LOVE petrol cars, they are so much more refined then diesel - even the latest generations dervs still have a long way to go when it comes to smoothness and running noise. However the points very valid, I doubt I'll get it above 30mpg which is a long way away from the diesel! Still we'll see, it'll be fun doing it up at least :)

I think you are being too hopeful - it's probably near to 18 gallons to the mile! [HAHA] [NOTHING]
Well Mark,
I for one hope you enjoy it, when you get running, if it isn't all ready fixed that is ;D,nothing quite like a V6 when ya put ya foot down!

OH THATS FUNNY ;D ;D
Well it IS fixed :) Ha!
Its been a non runner for almost 2 years and been to four separate garages (with a cost of Ã,£1800) and nobody had resolved it. Took me 1 hour of wire checking and I found the problem, spliced in the new wiring calibrated the TB and it started up with no errors. Took it around the block and its responsive and driving well - damn its quick! So anyone wanna buy a V6? ;)
How quick can it be towing a tanker behind it? woohoo

well i did say i reckon you would do it,
BUT 1 HOUR,YOU BLOODY AMATURE.
nice 1 m8.
now for some fun eh ;)
lol! It needs taxing and insuring first... fortunately the back road is a private road so its ok but its only 400yards and I'm desperate to fully test it now!
Still got a few little things to sort:
Heat shield banging in the middle,
Rear exhaust is well on the way out
Rear screen wash pipes adrift in the passenger foot-well
2 rear parking sensors are U/S
Tow-bar's been half fitted! No electrics just the hitch, not sure if to keep or remove tbh.
Coolant pipe split up front
Pollen filters not been done
A/C's weak - condenser replacement needed I think
General service
Nothing a good weekends work won't cure and it's all cheap stuff - well apart from the condenser but you know me, it'll have to be perfect before I list it!
Welcome to the smooth v6 engine club. The rest of you are just jealous!!
I love the VW V6 engine. Sometimes I have to check the rev counter to make sure its still running.
Oh, and I get 24mpg around town all day long and got 28mpg fully loaded along with a large roof box going to France and back last year. Not too bad!!
Little tip though, always keep a spare coil pack in the boot.
I thought you were after a 4motion?
Oh i am, be it V6 or Derv. This ones just for fun, a quick do up and sell, with a tidy profit if i'm lucky!
Late v6 4motion for sale on eBay.

Very unusual to see an 05 plate. No xenons though, I know you like your xenons.
Seems to be a realistic price as well with only 58k on the clock!
Nice find :) Might take a trundle up for a look at that this weekend, I can retrofit xenon's - that's not the end of the world, ESP would have been a damn site harder! :)
4motion always come with ESP.
Now I like the sound of retrofitting xenons. Hassle of levelling system and headlight washers always put me off.
Ahh well thats handy ;)
That bits actually the easy bit! Levelling is only two sensors, one on each ARB - the levelling itself is all handled by the controller inside the lamp. Headlamp wash, again an easy retro - its a requirement that its fitted, not that it works in conjunction with the lights so a separate switch for wash is all that's needed. The real pain will be converting the wiring over but even that wouldn't be that hard.
and a towbar fitted aswell, thats reduced the consumption to about 7 mpg.
Rang up but it sold before I could go take a gander :(
The search continues!
I'm not surprised really. I know guzzlers don't sell very well at the moment, but I reckon it was priced to sell.
As a side note, went to wembley on Saturday. >:( Drove nearly 500 miles in the day and all I can say is wow. The v6 never ceases to amaze me with its power.
I got 28 mpg on the way down and 24 coming back. (cruise was set a bit high coming back lol.) ;). If I drove it at between 65-70 it would return 30-32 mpg.
Blimey, they are rare at the best of times then 2 more come along at the same time. :o

High miles on both though!
Yeah I saw both of those but they are higher mileage then I want, its quite frustrating but because I'm in no rush to swap I've got a huge spec list that the shazzas got to have!
