had to do job today as alarm and windows not working, remove trim and you have to then remove the lower left hand dash panel as otherwise you can't get hand through the access hole., after doing that, you can now see the thing behind the pillar that the plug goes into. its secured by the black rubbery ring with a red plastic insert, be carful as the little red tags bend or break easily,  push the inner plug through the hole   there is a locating tag, then the outer ring pushes on and turns a good way round to secure it.   hope this helps someone as i found it a pain in the butt to do  but had to as i couldn't get to the wires,. the 2 wires i had were not broken and there was only a few strands that seemed cracked but it seems thats all you need for the thing to play up.
