For the central locking
Once you initiate the process all keys "programmed" are forgotten so you have to add them all again, so you can't just add one to the system you have to re-add the existing keys too. (That way lost keys are removed so can't be used via remote).  Worst case no keys added so you have to try again, or use the key in the door.  Doesn't affect the immobiliser and existing keys will still start the car.

For the Immobiliser
Worst case the third key can't be added and your two original keys still work.  You need two working keys to do it anyway. NOTE these need to be keys with different PATS ID's so one cut and "cloned" won't get into the programming/erase mode anyway.

i was a bit apprehensive about doing it 1st time,  i followed the owners handbook and still wouldn't work, it wouldn't go into programming mode,  i looked on google and on there it said turn the key the other way to what the handbook said,   then it did go into  mode and its very easy to do, even i did it 1st time and got 2 working keys.

Some Timpsons branches can cut and program Remote Keys (They have a branch locator on their site herehttp://www.timpson.co.uk/services/70/remote-car-keys (http://www.timpson.co.uk/services/70/remote-car-keys) that tells you what stores offer the facility.

I would ring in advance to check details if I was you.

I believe they will "clone" the immobiliser from your original key so the car "thinks" it's the same key.  That is the minimum you need to open/start the car.  You won't be able to use this key to "add" more keys to the immobiliser though as it needs two different keys (really the PATS chips inside them).

If they offer the remote or central locking etc then I guess you will have to add it yourself as above.

Let us know how you get on (prices) as although I have two, I would like another just in case...
