Hi, Ive recently purchased a 55 plate galaxy which unfortunately didnt come complete with locking wheel nut socket/tool. I need
new tyres and wondered if there are any forum members in the teesside area who would be willing to let me try their socket.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Cheers Dave
If memory serves there's a few different types of locking wheelbolt used- to help narrow it down, have you got the internal spline type where the removal nut locks into a set of splines within the wheelbolt (as below), the type where there's a 'track' cut into the head of the bolt or the type which uses a set of different length 'pins' in the removal socket to lock into holes of varying depths within the head of the bolt?

Hi, mine are the pin type.

There are a few options on [eBay] http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2055119.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xgalaxy+locking+wheel+nut+removal+tool&_nkw=galaxy+locking+wheel+nut+removal+tool&_sacat=0&_from=R40 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2055119.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xgalaxy+locking+wheel+nut+removal+tool&_nkw=galaxy+locking+wheel+nut+removal+tool&_sacat=0&_from=R40)
It might help if you post a picture of the head of the locking bolts you've got fitted so people can check against theirs, I imagine there's a few different combinations.
Small chance I know but I've got a set of those type bolts I took off of my Galaxy when I got it, If you put a picture up I'll see if by some small chance it matches.............
Hi . I had same locking bolts on my old galaxy . I think it is socket number 53 . You could double check in local Ford .
A lot of tyre/wheel garages (mainly independents) have a selection on hand to try - worth a call
