Hi.

As the title says, I have the opportunity to "Swap-to-test" the A/C Pressure Switch on my "Duff" system - but only on the proviso that it doesn't cause a loss in pressure / need to re-gas the "Donor" car's A/C System (Or my lovely re-filled system, for that matter)

Does anyone know 100% for certain please?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer, and in the absence of anybody who definitively does, I would suggest you slowly and carefully unscrew (I assume the switch threads into the pipe) the switch from the pipe on your vehicle and check for gas escaping. There may be a little residual pressure as you release the switch but if gas keeps escaping then you've got your answer. In this case you can simply tighten the switch back up with minimal gas loss, and it's cost you nothing.

The Haynes manual states there's no need to degas to remove the switch but caution should be taken in case the valve is faulty.

I can definitively state that removal of the A/C Pressure Switch does NOT lose any pressure from the system (Other than a very tiny fizz on release) :-) ;D :D

I can also confirm that below the pressure switch on my 97 plate vr6 sharan there is a schrader valve that seals the system.
