Noticed today during a round trip to Heathrow that the temp gauge went from it's usual 90o down to zero and back up again - while I watched! I stopped and checked the water - all OK - no signs of overheating or anything else. Any ideas? Is the sensor on it's way out or something worse!! ???
Fraid so, classic symptoms of failure. On the plus side its easy to change and you don't even need to empty the coolant. On the down side there are 4 different sensors and Ford can't tell you which one you need... genius!
i have a 2 pin one on my alhambra 2003 auy engine code part no. 06a919501a (has 2 pin connector)
but there is a four pin too. best to take your old one with you.
ANyone tell me where it is located? I am too lazy to go and look!!! :P
Mk2 TDI's are on the back right hand end, just under the large vacuum pipe where it fits on the tandem pump, removing the fuel filter gives better access but is still hidden.
