I had to take the stereo out and the wire just fell out of the connecter. I believe it is the yellow one that it fell from and now the AVC doesn't display on my stereo. Could somebody please tell me where it goes :-[
Does this clear it up for you?
This view is from the top, at least this is where the purple wire sits on my '54 reg model. (the connector layout looks slightly different on mine compared to yours as it's a 6006 CD changer unit, the connectors are all clustered together on yours but that should make no difference to location of the wire in the yellow connector, I would expect that to be the same for all models unless they've got sat-nav fitted).

This is just as I thought. Hmmm why am I still not getting the AVC display. Thank you so much for your help insanitybeard :-)
No worries, were you able to repair the wire properly? In the picture you posted the crimped terminal connector on the end of the purple wire looks physically broken/ snapped and not all there to my eyes- is the other broken part still in the yellow connector body? If not it's likely fallen out somewhere and you're not getting a proper contact. Even if it is still there the two parts probably aren't making a proper contact if you've just pushed the wire back into the connector body.
Yes it is broken. Can't find the broken piece anywhere, I physically pushed it onto the pin and nothing :-[
Hm, in that case I think your easiest fix may be to try to find a Galaxy in a breakers you can just chop the complete connector off of and join it in to your wire, in the automotive industry there are terminal repair kits which can be used to replace damaged terminals- as long as you can match the style of terminal required, but I don't think it's the kind of thing your average man in the street could get hold of, or at the very least you'd have to buy a kit with umpteen terminals you'll never use.
Your other option is to see if a vehicle electrical specialist can repair it for you- they may well have access to a proper terminal repair kit.
Thats what I was going to do mate with regards to going to a breakers yard. Thank you so much for your help. It really has helped loads
