After 372k kms. I think that the clutch needs replacing and being on a limited budget I am looking for advice, recommendation or experiences.
I am looking at using the Sachs clutch with DMF or the Valeo kit with SMF.
If you're considering tackling the job yourself with the vehicle on the floor, make sure you've got somebody who can assist- that gearbox is a big heavy lump, and you don't wan't to put your back out! Also, make sure you've got a decent trolley jack and axle stands- an engine brace bar designed to fit the sloping wings of the body would be ideal but I'm sure it's not essential.
As for the dual mass vs solid flywheel debate, I think it's safe to say ditching dual mass in favour of a solid flywheel will stress items like CV joints, driveshafts and possibly the gearbox more as the damping effect of the dual mass flywheel on the driveline is negated, especially when you've got a diesel engine producing a lot of torque. That's not to say it has no advantages!
