HI All,
Ref - Software upgrade - will Ford dealership upgrade my software mk3 software free of charge (part of warranty) - how can I motivate them to do this for me. I note that the latest software can improve performance, etc hence would be nice to get it!
Thx
Stephen
always worth an ask,but be prepared for the 'this will cost x amount'.
I think it depends on the dealer - obvious comment. I have an ongoing issue with turbo lag at low speeds - I'll not bore you with the details but I'm seriously considering dropping the car because I just cannot reconcile myself to accept that it is a reasonable replacement for my old MKII. However, I simply stressed the annoyance with the issue and they did the update free of charge. Apparently it took all afternoon and it made no difference. I have to stress that they were excellent even though I did not buy the car from them. I have found no change in anything as a result of the update but I have learned to lift off in anticipation as it goes through the 1400 rpm stage.
I think it's just a case of making a forceful and justified request. The first service all in cost just under Ã,£100.
