Another sods law day , removed the top and lower scuttle to do the pollen filter, on v6 remove the air pipe as well, removed bolts for wiper assembly, try to slide out as per instruction, the wiper motor jams on the throttle body sticking up from the cylinder head, no way could i wiggle it out. gave up but it did give more room to do the pollen filter. followed another post on the sire and drilled two holes in the spindle housing and sprayed with plenty plus gas. the wipers were very free but it seems preventive it better in these cars than waiting for it to seize. if anyone knows how to remove the throttle let us know, there are 2 easy to get at bolts but the back part can't be accessed easily. not much room to get around the engine bay with this engine.
There was some discussion regarding V6 throttle body removal here (https://www.fordmpv.com/smf2/ford-galaxy/how-do-i-remove-mk2-v6-throttle-body/), the upshot was that it looks like the inlet manifold needs to come off!
i shall hope then i don't ever need to remove it !
Martin I wouldn't advice plus gas as a long term lubricant, OK as a freeing off solution but to thin and would soon disappear with some rain.
Grease would be better or a heavy gear oil would be better.
understand that but trying to inject it into a 3mm hole is rather tricky, there was a chap on the other forum who did the job but doesn't say what lube he used , the wipers are very free at the moment so was hoping a regular squirt would keep them happy
