Hi boys and gals, sorry its been a while but I've been super busy but I also have bad news, my little beastie has been written off by a fosters wagon :o :o super annoyed as he didn't stop and even after I chased him down it was apparently my fault for being stopped at a red light :-[
So I'm on the prowl for a new car and after years of the Alhambra I fancy a change to the galaxy or sharan :) Don't like the Mk3 style and the Mk1s all have super mileage so I'm set on the Mk2 but want to figure out the colours first. is there a list of them anywhere and what's the deal with this bronze colour? really like that but seems to only be on the 2.8s and I want a tdi?
I did scan the body colours page out of a Ford brochure a while back but hadn't got round to posting it yet (was going to scan the whole brochure), just bear in mind the page I've posted below covers the 'facelift' Mk2 models from 2004 (ish) to 2006 when Ford stopped production of this shape Galaxy (I do have an earlier brochure covering the earlier Mk2's which I can scan if that's any help also). To my knowledge, I don't think any colours were restricted to any particular engine type, but obviously some were more popular than others.
Hope this helps:
P.S, sorry your old one got trashed!

There are a few not on that list (mine for one) but I do know the broze colour you are on about, seems to only be on very early mk2 and yes predominantly the 2.8s although I have seen some 2.3s in it
You're not referring to what Ford termed as 'Medium charcoal grey' are you Mark? It's in the earlier brochure I've got and is a kind of Bronze colour, I'll try and scan/post the page (from a year 2000 brochure) tomorrow. Mind you, some of these colour descriptions are hopeless.... my Galaxy is what Ford call 'Platinum', yet on the V5 it says 'Grey', which it looks nothing like to me! ???
Possibly, couldnt tell ta tbh!
Mine is "spruce green" allegedly, its more of a gold then green!
You would think that given VW designed everything including the drivetrain they could have done a better job with the colour names! ;)
Here's the scanned page from the earlier brochure, not as clear as the above page (from the later brochure) as the individual photo's are smaller. Still, gives you an idea!

See "Spruce Green" is still AWOL from that one, and if we are talking about the same bronzy colour - its also missing
Yeah, I noticed spruce green was absent, so the bronze colour you're thinking of isn't the suitably (!) named medium charcoal grey then? That looks bronzey to me (can anybody see any resemblance at all to grey in that colour or is it just me?!) ???
I had a Cavalier that I would describe as "White Gold", but that was classed as a Green colour!
