Help!! The flap over the fuel filler cap won't come open, we cannot hear any solenoid moving when locking and unlocking the car.
Another problem which might be related to this is that remote control key has also stopped working, I have replaced the cell in the key fob withno change. The central locking does work from turning the key.
Is the fuel flap solenoid accessible from inside the car, behind the trim?

There is normally some kind of mechanical release for the filler flap in case of malfunction but it needs Chris/Greg or another Mk3 Galaxy owner to confirm this. Does it mention anything about it in the owner's handbook?
As a side note, if you've changed the batteries in the remote key but it's still not working you may need to reprogramme the remote fob- normally the handbook has the procedure for this.
Fuel cap flap working again. Removed the access panel o/s rear then the foam panel behind it to gain access to the lock motor, moved it about a bit then it worked! The detaches from the filler assembly by means od a rubber bayonet type arrangement. At least if it gets stuck again then I know how to take it off.
Picture of the motor hanging down and the inner cover removed.

As for the key fob, it still doesn't work, strangely when it stopped it was sudden, the old car use to become intermittent as the battery ran down.
The handbook only says that the key can be reprogrammed, it doesn't say how other than call the dealer.
