own a galaxy tdi zetec 115 hp and getting a lot of oil coming out of egr valve removed the 90bend off the end and caked with oil !! is this normal or a fault ??
Oil coming out of the EGR is a fault but also very, very common. Other then make a mess it won't cause many problems and some oil vapour in the intake is normal, enough for a film over everything and even a little puddle in the lower areas of that area. It mixes with the EGR gases to form a crud though so its worth cleaning out the manifold which should also help ease the oil flow from the EGR.
its even spread down inter cooler pipe down front of engine was just concerned , do all pipes need removing and cleaning or is it ok to carry on using the car ?
Removing and cleaning the egr is pretty straight forward once it's removed the manifold is more involved but is usually worth the effort as this can also get bunged up with oily soot, be warned its a very messy job so have some degreaser and plenty of old rags to hand, wouldn't worry to much about oil in pipes as there will always be oil residue there.
