I have just up dated (02) plate Galaxy 1.9 TDi Ghia to a (05) 1.9TDi Ghia , the newer model ac control panel display not showing complete . neither panel was flashing on initial start up , now I have switched them they both flash for a short period on start up . Do these panels ( which look identical ) now need to be coded back to each vehicle ?Thanks for any help.
Hello Mike welcome5
I can only tell you now that a fault has been stored, as for coding Mirez will be able to answer that for you.
Not showing complete? Do you mean the display is faded or out in places? That's nearly always caused by a failing LCD cable which isn't easily replaceable.
As Chris says the panel flashing indicates a fault code is stored, unfortunately there are a number of small changes made to the Climate panel wiring between 2002 and 2005, not least the sensor's and flaps are all in different pin allocations :(
I suspect you may have inadvertently blown one or more sensors by using the late model panel in your car but get the fault codes read and report back...
