Hi I'm really stuck and need some help we brought our smax last year it's 8 months old
Friday was a loud clicking clunking noise when I drove under 20 kms
Saturday morning low battery wouldn't start windows wouldn't wind down
Saturday night alarm going off and it wouldn't switch of with the key so Sunday had a flat battery and the alarm kept going off
My friend charged it to see if we left anything on the garage towed it and changed the battery key said it worked fine got home low battery light drivers window wouldn't go down with key fob and engine and oil light on! Took it to the garage yesterday with faults all on and now they've gone to it today and the faults rang coming up on the screen so they can't fix anything they have said! They saw the faults yesterday and today they've done a diagnostic test and because the codes are all coming back ok they aren't going to look at anything else! Has anyone else had these problems! I'm worried as I'm meant to be doing a 10 hour drive next week!!!! Any help would be great sorry for the long post
Hello Jay welcome5
Do you do a lot of short journeys? as it seems your running on a virtually flat battery, running the car on reduced voltage plays havoc with the electrical systems, charge your battery for 36 hours then try again.
welcome5,
hi jay have you done the on board diagnostic check?
if you scroll through the different menus you will see the battery voltage and any stored fault codes.
if its below 12.4 then i would say the batterys kaput.
ive recently gone through very similar problems to yourself,i was nursing the battery for a couple of months.after a run it would say 12.2 volts, left over night it would say 11.7,and would only just start.
