I am delighted at getting the Aux heater working on my Mk1, the front heater is now performing very well. Unfortunatley I am only getting cold air from the rear heater. The rear unit is only heat, no air con.
There must be water circulation to the rear, could it be that the rear heater matrix is full of air, if so how is it bled? Also the Hot / Cold knob abover the rear passenger seat feels like an electrical pot rather than a cable push pull, if so then maybe some electrics have failed and aren't moving the flap.
The Haynes manual seems very confused, showing all sorts of equipment that I might not have.
PS one side question, the aux heater is quite smelly with fume coming in the car when I stop at traffic lights, it's mini exhaust is intact and correctly placed, the only thing is that I haven't put the air intake pipe back just yet so there is an open hole to the inner wing but I didn't think that connects to the car interior?
Regards
Ian
Feel the pipes where they disappear up through the N/S/Rear wheel arch if these pipes are hot then possible flaps not moving.
and yes fumes will find there way back in, put the inlet tube back in place.
