Hello, the problem is with my cabin ventilation. Its not blowing much (nothing at level 1, 2 but i can hear it blowing, low blowing on 3 and 4). Also i cannot change where it blows, its always blowing on windscreen. My first idea was that its was about the air filter but when i opened the filter slot there wasnt any filter in it so problem must be somewhere else. Any ideas?

filter problem,are you saying you havnt got an air filter fitted,or do you mean there wasnt a pollen filter fitted?2 entirely different things.
I meant there wasnt any pollen filter fitted, tho there is the slot for it. Anyway i doubt its about the resistor pack since its working but just seems like something is blocking the airflow. Could be that direction where it should blow is not fully opened? I mean since i cannot change where it blows then problem may be there.
If there is no pollen filter fitted, is it possible that over time (depending on how long it's not had a filter installed for) a load of leaves or other crud has found it's way in to the heater box and ducting and blocked the flow of air?

Sounds fair to me, any ideas how to access it? From the glove box i guess?
If you can't change the direction of airflow from the windscreen then possibly either the directional flap in the blower box is jammed with crud or the actuator for it has failed (on the mk1 I'm not sure if the directional flap actuator is cable, vacuum or electrically operated, if it's like the mk2 it's electrically operated I think), in all seriousness in my opinion it may be worth trying to blast a high pressure airline through the cabin air vents or pollen filter opening to try to dislodge any obstruction without stripping things down, if you need to strip it perhaps removing the blower motor may be a good way in, I think this is possible to do without removing the dash by going in through the passenger side glovebox.
Okay, so today i got so far that i removed the blower motor and there was no dust at all, even tho i have not used pollen filter for years and its still clean and smooth, also confirmed that blower motor is working on all speeds. Next thing i would like to check is this directional flap actuator, i guess its cable since when i search it from ebay (mk1) then it can find some. My question is how to get to the directional flap actuator?
As I understand it the heater flaps on the Mk2 for direction and temperature are all controlled by electric motors on the heater box, I have no experience of working on the heater box but the Haynes manual states that the directional flap control motor is 'on the right hand side of the heater unit behind the lower facia panel', (which I assume means drivers side), it suggests that the lower portion of the dash has to be removed to access but as a first step it may be worth taking a look to see if you can open up any access by removing the centre console around the gear selector, I imagine it must be up above the pedal box area.
EDIT: Just seen that you've got a Mk1.... D'oh :-[ In which case it does appear that the direction flap is controlled by cable- see here (http://eucatparts.com/?action=cat_ford_part&s_id_part=24353&s_id_model=98). It may just be that the cable has popped out at one end if you're lucky, or has just seized/ failed with time. Does the rotary direction control turn smoothly?
