Title: Rear window washer line
Post by: Etihad84 on February 09, 2014, 05:54:33 PM
Hi all my rear washer doesn't work at present and I've done as mentioned in previous threads to remake the connection at the passenger footwell, although it wasn't fully separated or the floor wasn't wet. However when I pull the stalk for the rear window washer water gushes out from under the front wheel. Could it be disconnected from the bottle or the pump or what? If so how do I access this. Thanks chris

The pipe could well have become disconnected from the pump on the washer bottle. Your easiest way in is to put the front wheels on full right hand lock and unscrew the front fasteners on the plastic wheelarch liner (which are size 20 or 25 torx fasteners), then pull down the front end of the wheelarch liner, you should then have enough room to access the pump.

Thank you I'll have a go at that tomorrow when it's a bit lighter.

No worries, I omitted to say- it's the nearside wheelarch liner you need to take down, sure you knew this anyway as the water is presumably leaking from the nearside but just in case! The pipe is just a push fit onto the pump.

Thanks. Next on the list is the pollen filter then the reversing sensors. Think I bought a galaxy with all the known faults although I do like driving it and it's practical with the two kids.
