Hi guys , I am thinking about chip tuning my 115 bhp galaxy with TDI TUNING BOX . It can increase 30 - 40 bhp and torque and reduce consumption . Has anyone tryed out things like that ? Is it safe for engine ?
Thank You
AVOID AVOID AVOID! The keyword is CAN, the real word is WONT - Tuning boxs work by generating fake signals in place pf the real ECU signals. Thats not ideal in itself as the ECU is working with duff data, its therefore not working efficiently and might not react as it should. Generally, they make the ecu think its putting less fuel in and getting more air then it is, the result is that it puts more fuel in and thats where your extra power comes from - normally running the pump at or near its maximum. Chances are you'll get a maximum increase of about 10bhp and either none or a negative impact on mpg.
Save the money for a proper remap!
Thanks for advice it looks scary . How much will remap will cost at dealers or somewhere else ?
