The rear passenger door on my 2007 smax is locked and won't open with either the remote key fob or with the internal handle.
The inner handle refuses to unlock and some how seems siezed.
Ideally I'd take the door panel off and have a look inside, but I can't as I cannot get access to the screws on the outside edge of the door. The door won't open at all.
Any ideas ?
you might be able to reset the system by disconnecting the battery???MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RADIO CODE 1ST.
if not then you might be able to unscrew the door handle and try gaining access to the lock solenoid?
or take the bullet and cut the door card off.
hope thats of help a bit.
Finally made some progress without having to cut off the door card. :)
I managed to open the door by pulling on the internal lock lever whilst pressing the unlock button on the key fob.
I've still got the problem when the car is locked again, but at least I'll be able to get the door card off (without cutting it) by repeating the process above.
It's interesting, but the internal lever seems to move really fast (and too far) when it is locked via the central locking.
Anyone have any diagrams of how the locking system works ?
any help?
