Title: Parking Distance Control issue.
Post by: Wiggla on January 02, 2014, 02:50:00 PM
Hello All,

I have bought a MK3 08 Ford Galaxy.

I want to be able to get the PDC to work as it doesnt right now, when engaged either through the button on the dash or by putting the car into reverse it just beeps, the light flashes and goes off and the sensors dont work when something passes by or its close to an object.

I have replaced all 8 sensors on the back and the front, I have also removed the large connector underneath the bumper at the back and repaired a fault in the wiring there (bought a new loom, had a different plug on it but the cables are the same just transposed the wires into the existing plug).

I have checked using a mulitmeter all of the connections and repaired those that were not working.

The problem still persists, I am at my wits end here and pulling my hair out, what little I have left :)

Now the beeping only comes from the back sounder and the main board in the rear of the car that controls it all looks brand new.
Should there be a sounder in the front of the car underneath the passenger seat? if there should be I cant see it.

If anyone has any ideas where the front sounder is I would greatly appreciate it, failing that any other ideas on what would cause this problem.

Thanks in advance, any advice is greatly appreciated....

Regards

Gary

Check the car voltage, if the voltage is around 12V when not running, or 13V when it is, then it could be a common cause issue for the PDC.
