I am a apprentice novice, so excuse my ignorance.
Looking for some advice identifying a possible problem before it occurs.

The hose above the EGR (8)
First what is it for and doing?
The small length of bright silver heat shield, should this be longer?
Potential problem-
I have noticed that where it rests on the metal ridge/clip (directly to the right of the number 8) that the rubber hose has indents, which are clearly caused by heat contact.
Is this a known issue?
Advice what to do.
That is a water hose, it should be tucked down below the oil filler then the plastic engine cover keeps it in place.
There' not normally any issues, if it wont stay tucked down it may need repositioning on the run on pump.
Do you have the over-cover fitted? There is a channel/holder on the back of it that keeps this away from any contact.
That cover was missing.
Have got a new under cover tray on order from Poland.
Am looking for this part, but did not realize it had the channell, that explains away what I assumed was poor design.#
Thanks
