Title: Ford Galaxy - Headlight Removal (Mk2)
Post by: Mirez on March 03, 2012, 10:16:35 AM
Prior to removing the headlight two things should be done:

Firstly, the vehicle should be parked level and near a wall. The headlights can then be turned on and the beams position marked on the wall which will ensure it is relocated correctly and the alignment remains correct and hasn't got to be checked.

Secondly, the front bumper (just in front of the headlight, should be covered in masking tape) - this is to stop the bottom of the headlight scratching the bumper with its metal prongs as its withdrawn from the bumper.

The headlight is held in place with 4 torx bolts, two at the top and two at the bottom as shown here:

The top two screws are under plastic caps, simply pop these off to access the torx bolts:

The bottom two are very hard to see because of the location - if you have a magnetic pick up tool then the bottom screws can be removed, if you don't have that tool then remove the one closest to the grill but only loosen the one nearest the wing as it will be very hard to relocate when you refit the light!

Note: Do not undo/touch the orange hex screw! This is the alignment adjustment and has nothing to do with fixing the headlight in position!

On 2004 on cars there can be a benefit to remove the four screws holding the top of the grill in place which allow a little more flexibility.
